Confirmed Coronavirus cases passes 600,000 worldwide

The global record of confirmed coronavirus cases has exceeded 600,000 barely 48 hours after reaching half a million according to John Hopkins University researchers.

Confirmed 607,000 cases with over 28,000 deaths revealed that the spread of the pandemic has remained pandemic

The US is the country with the highest number of cases, at 104,000, but Italy has experienced the most deaths at 9,134.

Spain has a record daily rise of 882 deaths. The true global record is thought to be more, considering that the virus is asymptomatic.

New York remains the worst-hit city in the US, where there are more than 44,000 cases. In Nigeria, Lagos is the worst hit city with close to 60 cases and South Africa remains the worst-hit country in Africa.
